Prince of Purrsia

By Parallelis on January 8, 2016 5:33 pm

Based around a Prince of Persia sample, ended up taking on an Octopus Project-style feel with the theremin and everything.

This is VERY nice. Love it heart

This is lovely. :3 And I definitely dig the Octopus Project-style you ended up with.

Nice big open space

Nice pun on one of my favorite series smile. I love the slow build. Ambient boomp bamp goodness. And that theremin lead!

That bII chord at the end of your eight-bar progression! MY FAVORITE
Also, for some odd reason I get this Life Is Strange soothing, nostalgic vibe from the track. Fun stuff!

Yeah. So. This is rad. I'd actually forgotten about The Octopus Project, somehow, even though I really liked them, so thanks for reminding me they existed too haha.

Make more!

Which part is the Prince of Persia sample?  And now I must find out more of this Octopus Project of which you speak.  Great track!  The intro sound captivated me and to mirror Jetkick's comment, that secret-downturn-thingy at the end of your main note progression was great.

Brilliantly atmospheric. One of the best pieces I've heard this week.

really cool vibe, perfect would-be score for an offbeat indie movie.  also big ups for solid theremin skills!

The theremin was definitely what sold me. Great song up until then, absolutely, but that theremin lead sound was too good.

The instrumentation and arrangement is awesome like everyone else says, but the thing that I really love about track is that sassy bII right before you come back to I. I'm a sucker for the minor iv chord too, haha.

Didn't notice you beat me to this comment lol

This is a really nice piece. As others said, the slow build, the theremin... And that phat lead! Personally what I like most are those arpeggios in the backgroud.

Guess the Prince is on those strings... Feels like walking on your tip toes:)

Love how it breaks down to just the bass and melody in the middle :-)  And that portamento style theremin soundl  Fun!

Love this so much. heart that woobly lead gets me in the feels.

Lead is absolutely brimming with character. Love it dude

awesome.

I liked this a lot!!

Many thanks for all the kind comments guys!

The theremin lead is a plug-in I recently got for ableton and it's definitely a lot of fun. Glad to hear people enjoying it.

The Prince of Persia sample is the glitchy string dealio at the beginning that runs throughout the piece. Super slowed and chopped from it's original source haha. And definitely check out Octopus Project if you haven't already! I especially recommend their album Hexadecagon, although all of them are really great.

:-) that's my new catch phrase!

Oh wow, love how organic this sounds and i love the progression of the track. And the theremin ... Been a while since i last heard that, smile Really nice work!

Love the pad, which is I guess your tortured sample. Really warm, and it works great with that pretty melody over the top.  The theremin voice is excellent--it's like Ennio Morricone using someone whistling.  Very nice!

Awesome atmosphere and chords! like other people said the minor IV and flat II chords just make me melt into my headphones.

Very relaxing, great job

mmm viiiiiiiibe, dark but, tropical ?? goths on da beeach

Sexy! Where's the Arabian Princess? Super chill. I like chill. Theremin is RAD!

Mmmmm... Really nice, bookmarking this one... Lush!

very chill, the theremin is cute

Holy crap man this is soothing as all get up. Amazing use of that theremin!!

LUSH

Also bass is slightly heavy in headphones. Excellent track overall.

Sweet, floating, lushness. Theremins are the best.
