Cat's Pajamas - Vapor Eyes (2k18 Remaster)

By Parallelis on May 18, 2018 3:47 am

Seasonal farm stand job has been greatly cutting into my music making time, so I dug into the vault and did some touch ups / added elements / changed synth patches / remixed a track I did for my shortlived chillwave project "Cat's Pajamas" with my pal Santangelo (we did one show back in 2014). It's a lot of fun, hope u have fun listening to it.

Lyrics:
i don't ever wanna wait
holding out and staying back for u
had enough promises
now we're through

the vapor clouds up my sight and now the
memory parasite is gouging
burrowing through my mind and now my
brain's being redesigned
ideology aligned again
~
sifting through my mind
makes up for lost time
these moments that felt right
now I can't describe

i'm chasing these white lines
gaze into night skies
passions that might die
waiting for sunrise
~
I - eye - I - eye - I - i - i
(Cat's)
(Pajamas)
~
i'm not an aristocrat
but i can give you riches that are real
no money or shiny things
for real

but look in my eyes and tell me
my astrological sign it seems so
meaningless and benign but baby
if it don't mean anything
i just want to tell you how I feel
~
sifting through my mind
makes up for lost time
these moments that felt right
now i can't describe

It's also the Bee's Knees. ::)

ugh that bass is so groovy. everything about the instrumental is on point really. i would raise the vocals a bit and carve out some eq room for it in the mix though, especially the chorus vox have some real flavor but its buried by the synth

Dreamy as!
