This one came about from a comment last week:

I feel the slightest hint of latin infusion, especially the way the lead complements things during the turn around of each repeat.

Five step mental jump led to me thinking...Oooh, I should lean into that idea and try a latin rock style like Santana! This track is me attempting to copy the style (the title is "I bite hard").

I dug a little deeper into the session drummers - I'm. liking the deeper control it gives you over the sounds.

Stellar. More nice guitar, still digging the Latin flava with a bit o' blues. And everything syncs at 1:45 before the organ solo! And a percussion solo! I am not a massive Santana fan, but this I like. Maybe he should take some notes 😆

That is some damn fine guitar, and that 3 minute mark, so good.

My guy, you got the skills to deliver on this.
Not just great guitar and organ chops but sound production as well sounds big.
The organ noodling from about 1:50 onwards is absolute fire.
And just varied throughout really; Comprehensive work for a week.

Thanks!

Funny thing is, I'm not much of a Santana fan either - won't change it if it comes on, but have never actively sought it out to listen to. It was fun to dissect the sound and figure out what makes it tick, particularly the rhythms.

Thanks! The percussion break was a last minute addition - the new Session Drummer includes rhythmic seeds for each part, with increasing complexity and intensity...which can then also be adjusted via the intensity and complexity sliders. Adjusting for half, standard and double time is a lot more straightforward, too. Really happy with the kind of variety that's possible now!

Thank you so much!

I'm starting to feel the benefits of weekly playing/production practice. That, and the ideas, suggestions and support of the community here is an even bigger help.  I don't think I would have tried a song like this a year ago.

Dayuuuuuum ♨_♨

This really clean and crisp everything in it's own place with plenty of space. And the solos and everything are very exciting and well performed. Those drums are tight and dynamic as well. Not to mention the sound of that guitar was very Santana great work on all of it can't wait to hear more!

Definite Santana vibes, but that organ is delicious. I was reminded of working an old job and we'd always sit and listen to Jackie Mittoo: The Organ King. Love a good organ!

Thank you! Something I know my older compositions have had a problem with is just too much stuff. Listening to Santana made me listen to what wasn’t there. My first bassline was a LOT busier.

I am glad you like my organ!

Wait, no…

Thank you. I am actually very proud of that organ solo. Recorded live, with no edits (which is why you can hear occasional bad notes LOL).
