What a fun lil groove! Don't diss the stock plugins, anything that gets an idea to become a track is S-tier in my book 
Yes. Keep grinding! Stock plug ins on anything is a rite of passage. Use them. Use Apple loops. Use free plug ins. Use your own samples. Use external synths. Use drum machines. Whatever. It all gets the job done.
