Polyphonic sound plateau and the voice sample by english psychiatrist, Dr. Humphry Osmond, the man who introduced the famous author Aldous Huxley to the psychotropic agent mescaline, in the early 1950's.
In his search for a terminology for mindaltering substances Huxley came up with the term phanerothyme:
"To make this mundane world sublime, take half a gram of phanerothyme."
In 1956 Osmond answered with his famous quote coining the word psychedelic:
"To fathom hell or soar angelic just take a pinch of psychedelic." (psyche = soul + delos = to manifest)
