The Cut of Your Jib

By Orinoco on April 14, 2012 2:05 pm

This song goes out to everyone whose jib I like the cut of. In the literal sense, a jib is apparently like the mast of a ship. Working title - Antique Armoire. I'll use that later. It was also going to be another part of a "shed" themed trilogy but thankfully before it was too late I realised that's absolutely fucking ridiculous. Even after that realisation, the title is still totally stupid. Little bits of this are inspired by Wayne Shorter and Yusef Lateef - the meter and some of the rhythms. Shame I don't share their ear for a melody. But I don't mind how this turned out. My version is slightly different - it has Troy from 'Community' saying 'laserdisc' in the intro, which sounds silly (and it is) but it adds alot.

laaaaserdisc
