Ecstatic

By Orinoco on March 24, 2012 1:52 pm

I wanted to work with slow attack synths. Working title - Vomit in the Mausoleum. Based on an awful in-joke involving a fictional metal band called Eternal Burnage. Then I was gonna call it something along the lines of 'The Death of Captain Planet' but it wasn't funny at all - just disturbing. This is similar to two of my previous tracks ('Familiar Fez'/'Gift Horse'). I've got a vinyl simulator plug-in up again, along with the rain effects I recorded. Those are deliberately high in the mix. I had some bell sounding melodies on the second pass that I wasn't too sure about but my computer crashed before I saved. I took that as a sign to leave those out. I also was considering a massive drum part but skipped that too. Hopefully it's not too boring, because I can never tell. Influenced by Burial, and Bowie's late 70s instrumentals with Eno.

I love how its called Ecstatic, when its completely the opposite. Definitely sounds like something that Eno would do.

ooooo, another placid ambient track, very good!

Wonderful.  Great field recordings.

Very nice piece.

Nice work here.  I like the ambient background sounds with birds.  Also the sound of vinyl sound fits. very simple and understated... works well.

I like it! nice atmosphere

Nice. Very pleasant.

this is quite beautiful.  its got a haunting chord progression and the HF static and rain sounds delicately add to the ambiance big_smile

so pretty, good job yo

So good! Loving the atmosphere of this piece - and the title gives such a nice contrast. heart

I wanna put ambiance and stuff in front of my tracks when I put them on an ep/album i love it.
