Wolves

This is a type of shepard's tone, where the notes are continually increasing in pitch as lower notes enter.  Let me know if it is too long.  There are some really weird moments that are summations of unfriendly frequencies.  Please let me know if there any awkward ear-killing moments or dropouts due to a polyphony limitation I set.

I wrote a poem:

one lone wolf, sitting on a hill
see its breath burning, yet it stands still

two more wolves, joining by the side
everything is black, except six eyes

three more wolves, entering the fold
something's not right, your heart runs cold

four more wolves, silently arrive
you dare not move, you dare not hide

ten more wolves, overwhelm the pack
didn't mean to look away but upon looking back

no more wolves sitting on the hill
something is behind you, standing very still

Haunting track. Nice synth modulation. Spacey as.

I don't think it's too long.  It's plaintive and brings to mind vast empty spaces, while also being reminiscent at times of wolf howls.  Nice track.

Not too long at all.  I really like this creepy glacial vibe.

I just finished the newest Stephen King book and now this. Oh well, sleep is overrated.

I really enjoy this style of piece, the limitations you've built in serve it well I think.

I had to come back to this.  Relistened to & downloaded.

Lecker, delicious!

What could be more appropriate than using Shepard tones in a song about wolves? Complete with drawn-out howls.

nice.  i like these haunting sounds.

Thanks for the feedback on the length.  So happy to hear that it makes you think of empty space.  I was hoping that the howl would spread across the plains in the listener's mind.

Glad the length worked out for you!  You help me feel more confident about the time decision.  Thanks.

Thanks for listening!

You should record that poem over the music. It will make an awesome nursery rhyme, I mean it...

Now I'm stuck with it in my head... "one lone wolf sitting on a hill..."
