Sunlight Vertigo

By orangedrink on August 30, 2020 10:57 pm

Every week I feel incredibly exhausted thinking about my weekly beat, avoiding working on my weekly beat, and then submitting my weekly beat.  But somehow I still make it happen!  And somehow I'm happy with the results.  Crazy!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This was my attempt in doing my version of Boards Of Canada's track, "Corsair" - which is one of my favorite pieces of all time, and maybe the piece of music that I've listened on repeat the most in my life.  I completed the entire track on the OP-1 while sitting out in the sunshine, as was suggested by Zirafa.  I came indoors to mix it on Ableton and master in Ozone.  There are four instrument tracks.  The wild hiss is actually a stray element from the synthesizer engine of the first audible instrument.  I think the main chord is a G major!  smile

In other news, I've been working on painting this past week for the first time in years, and it was a lot of fun.

pretty!

Great one, I've been also thinking about some ambient pieces. I like this one. Great inspiration too, I love that track

Lots of warmth in this.  You can really feel the sunshine.  I think the hiss really adds to the warm feeling.  This is really nice.

Sweet interlude or intro to an album. Hazy morning feels.

Cool ambient track, I like the mix of the white noise and the delicate key lines.

Great inspiration material to be inspired by, and great result you got here! Nice all around.

lol that castanza gif ... he was fan no doubt.

Corsair is def one of my favs of BoC.  It's always a regular play when I'm having a migraine.  Just makes me forget the pain during those 2min52sec..  Love the feel you set with this instantly with that opening synth.  I can feel the sunshine coming thru as the main synth opens up and the lovely gritty hissy part comes in.  Had to listen to it twice cuz it sounds so nice! Super soothing atmosphere.  The outro chord is so nice and warm.  Well done!

Very peaceful.

great ambient track. the song has def a pleasurable warmth to it.

Love BoC and this a great piece of music to show respect to their work, I was doing something else and this came on the headphones, never saw any description and immediately thought this sounds like BoC.

Maaan I am so behind on my listening. This is great! I don't think I had heard that BoC track before either.

How was it for you composing outside? Did you feel any different?

Yo... that main synth line is wicked good.
