Shipwrecked

This was my 5th attempt at this week's piece.  For some reason got really hung up and frustrated!

The ghost piano was a cool patch as the clicking happened if you hit the key with some velocity.  The first drone was my attempt at copying Halo's loading screen drone.  The second drone was my attempt at copying Martin Stig Andersen's "Venus" from the Wolfenstein II soundtrack (a game I haven't played, but want to just because I am such a huge fan of Andersen [he did the soundtrack for Limbo and INSIDE])

I'm so tired!

In other news, I'm trying to teach myself how to play soccer because of World Cup!  I also discovered the Hitman video game series and am really enjoying a free demo I downloaded.  Also recently discovered bagel sandwiches.  I am taking Karate lessons and will test for Green Belt on Monday night - wish me luck!  I got the movie "GOOD TIME" from the library and am interested to watch it, particularly because Oneohtrix Point Never did the soundtrack.

Talk to you soon!

Dark and ominous with edges of electricity emanating in ripples. Sounds like the sounding pings from a large craft passing slowly overhead. The clicks from the ghost piano sound like droplets of water within the cargo hold for the ship. I could see this in a game or live set intro. Good luck with the green belt testing. I myself am a black belt of bagel sandwiches... like ninja level shit. smile

Yeah I get an underwater submarine kind of vibe from the pinging sound.  Dig the intense build as well.  You sound like a very busy guy!  Good luck on your various endeavors.

Ah yais one of my fav ableton analog patches!  I had fun using that a few times in previous WBs.  You can get some weird bassy percussion sounds out of that instrument if you take the filter off the Piano_FF and change the start point of the sample or mute the Piano and just use the Operator part.  Woah I got sidetracked (literally opened ableton to revisit that patch).... That being said, I love the drones in this especially the flaring Venus drone.  Is that drone from ableton too or another synth?  Bagel sangs are da best especially when there's heaps of bacon involved!

These are some ominous vibes! The halo loading screen drone is a classic, you did a good job emulating it heart Good luck with your Green Belt!

It sounds like you're got a lot going on.

I'm not a drone expert, but I believe what you've got is just a synth bass track since it's pitched to the chord in the progression. Especially that second one. It's very pretty though.

Wow Drew - love the dark edge to this :-)  Esp that build in the middle.  Compression / limiting done well too.  Cheers!

Can't believe I almost missed this inspired piece! Bad Jim ::(

Wow this is awesome!!!
It has such a nice mysterious vibe.
The pingpong dripping sounds are a bit creepy.
And this synth crescendo near the end gives the feel of a disturbing discovery...
This one really brings picures... i love that big_smile

A really haunting piece... ideal soundtrack for a movie in my head, when I hear it! I like the hollow, cavey athmosphere here very much.

i like ghost piano!
