Reflecting Face

UPDATE:  I made a video for this!

Made with Ableton Live 8.  I was enjoying the track and then decided to chop up my own voice from a previous album and really had a lot of fun with that.

Things I learned:
- Learned how to use the OP-1 as a MIDI controller to play Live's virtual instruments and other functions
- Played + recorded chords with MIDI, instead of clicking piano roll blocks one by one
- Need to keep track of overall volume when using MIDI instruments, since I can't adjust volume per clip

Things to follow up on:
- Don't really know how to Send/Receive FX in Ableton
- Don't know how to adjust individual clip volume when using a MIDI instrument
- Take more time to study Reason's MClass Mastering tools

The vocal samples really add a lot to this track. Killer submission. Can't wait to see what you have coming up this year!

^ agreed the vocal cuts are really cool. reminds me a bit of OK Ikumi's use of vocals.

For what you've mentioned, this is pretty a good start! wink

Wow - that flange / phase effect is intense!!  I Do like the vox cut too.

Really good use of sampling here. Curious about what you've got under your sleeve for coming weeks.

You got me inspired on chopped voices now, man!

trippy in a good way!

Great first track!

woo this is very good

Love the video.

Congrats on the only 'chillwave' tag this week - dig the stutter-factor here - nice work

I'm late to comment but yeah, very much into the vocals + video. Hella variety between this and your next week's submission smile

OK... I have to admit, I've never watched/listened to your first ever WeeklyBeat until now... WHAT THE HELL MAN. You were just as amazing 8 years ago! The camera! The TV! The FX! What. The. F*&K. I've lost all sense of time now. smile

Ah, so the legend begins! Had no idea you've been doing this since 2016. I'm glad I'm a part of this community now but I do long for a timeline where I started back then. Ah well, we all get to where we're going eventually smile
