This track is giving me some squarepusher vacuum garden vibes cool very mood

ha, wowwww... I love that CHONKY patch you've got going and all the gnarly noises gurgling below it. awesome video too, reminded me a lot of Creep (the movie). I love the ending too, like Frank and week 11's song were your latest victims. you and Frank must be having fun (and working hard!!) making these.

What a moody jam! Dig it! Nicely directed video too.

Having become acquainted with your work through a few years of Weekly Beats now, I have some familiarity with the extensiveness of the Orange Drink buffet and I'm sure it would be nearly impossible to convey it with just one song or video.  Such is the curse of having a wide stylistic range.  This track has a nice intensity to it and really builds the tension.  Great video as always.  There's some real cinematic artistry to the camera work and Frank really sells it with his performance.  It's awesome to see how involved he's been this year.

Two comments each week cuz visuals and audios... and this week was hallucitory... auditicinations... errr you know!  But seriously I listen twice especially here so I can appreciate the lil parts I missed from the YT video.  Separate tabs man!  That main opening synth really keeps that paranoid feeling going throughout.  The lil distortions and fx towards the end really give off those feelings even more.  I hope there weren't any outtakes that involved head injuries!  Be careful guys!  Well done and keep it up!

Listened first, then checked the video out. Absolutely love the texture of the "busy insects" sound, whatever that is -- absolutely fantastic. Kind of amazing sounding how it scrunches along and takes the whole sound into a different, far more anxious / intense territory. Love it when there's a sound that can single-handedly flip the script (admittedly a complex one, but it's got a lot to compete with!) Love love love the video, a wonderful portrait of longing. heart

I dig the mesmerising arp phrase and wall of bending oscillators meandering through the chord progression. Beautiful layered chaos emerging and blooming. Lovely dissolution at the end. Nice one.

Very nice work- this track is so good, I love the chaos it goes into, but the entire thing is amazing

Wow, the suspense throughout is palpable - especially as the sound gets more and more distorted. Awesome work on this one!

The song title is super apt for the music itself because even though it's in 4/4 (from what I can tell) it sounds like it's shifting time signatures a lot, so it gives this feeling of being unsettled from being unable to find the "one" in the measure.

time-signature stuff aside, loved the video concept and execution. I thought it was especially cool/fun how the popcorn in the microwave was seemingly the source of the bit-crusher sound effect haha.

This track is different. The video gives me a David Lynch vibe, with a slightly surreal atmosphere. It reminds me a bit of the end of Lost Highway (of course in much less dark). There is also something in the framing of the videos that I found was intensifying this effect, as if someone is watching (especially the first shot).

The play with the music is just perfect. I was pushing the volume of the music to really get immersed, and this was very hypnotic. The high drones, slightly worrying, and the noise/glitch at the same time as we see the other TV would take me back to With Teeth era of NIN, especially their art work that was very glitch based.

I'll need to watch this again a few times. I understand now why it took you like 7 hours instead of the 2 hours planned! smile

Good luck with the show!

great experimantal use of the OP-1. The video is excellent directed and yes, it creeps under the skin.
Take care you two, as much as you can.

I absolutely loved the video and how you fit the story so well with the music. Really impressive stuff. Your dog needs to be nominated for the oscars this year I reckon.

Very cinematic! But also super sad ending. You should have had Frank turn to the camera and wink so we knew he was ok at the very end.

Love that main synth. Very "blade runner" esque... And that videoclip nails it for the uneasy ambiance, loads of good stuff there.

Congrats.

The drone sounds are lovely, such a creepy vibe and really well done video.

Holy shit! This enters short film territory.  Great shooting and music. The music is riveting and adds drama bordering on terror to the video.  You're really close to SciFi short film territory for the Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival.  You still have 41 more videos to go (panic sets in).  If one like this tips a bit more towards scifi, I hope you'll submit it to the festival. This is better than much of what I see... not to be overly critical of the other filmmakers.  If you get some longer form work like this (10 mins), enter it in Slamdance or Tiny Film Festival.  Great work!

Holy!  This one instantly grabbed me.  That analog sound is rich, and lush.  The pad running throughout has some beautiful movement to it.  Amazing!

Dude, amazing work as an entire piece.  Both the video and song compliment each other greatly.  I enjoyed the seriousness of this one too!

Wow, great one! Music and video fit so well. It's unnerving ... I worried about Frank hearing things. That would be so scary. He did great. Nice shooting, the zooms, and perspective, grabs you! Told a story with no words, props! Is that a big Hemlock tree outside the kitchen window?

I love this music style, beautiful melodies and noise ambient. It's inspiring to my songs and I want to make something with strong feeling as this. Sad and scary video, wonderful made and perfect fitting to your music.

Miracle Miles nailed the adj. UNNERVING - but so well executed by the team - bravo!!!

It's been fun to watch the video's earlier in the week then come back to the pieces and just listen.  The musical piece is less unnerving but still holds a lot of tension.  It's a really cool piece.

Very gentle and warm sounds.

Until it isn't, but it's still nice then.

Bonkers!  That video is so good, the tension from the music is physical, I found my body and muscles getting tight.  Wish I could have been at your show on Thursday, I’m sure you had a great time.

I meant to comment on this last week and just plain forgot, sorry. I really like the feel and atmosphere of this track. There's a kind of sense of displacement that is really moody and heavy, and the video fits really nicely with it.

really nice progression over the track!

really enjoyed this one, it really was like a short film. the music, acting, and cinematography flowed together seamlessly.

ch-ch-ch-CHONK thank you.  Never saw Creep, will have to!  lol about the check list.  It’s exhausting, but it’s worth it to see how everyone is enjoying them and having fun with them!

this is a really sweet comment.  thanks so much, it’s nice to be able to be building a “cinematic style”

these compliments on sound design mean THE WORLD to me coming from you.  You rule at it!  Thanks for the video comment too, I actually never thought it that way (portrait of longing) and it gave me a new take on the vid.

Wow, so flattered by “lovely dissolution” - I feel like that is a tricky thing and I really lucked out.  Thanks.

Thank YOU!  We were so happy with how the audio “magically matched up” with our video

I think it’s in 4/4 but yeah, it messes with me because there are some weird accents or something.  I kept feeling like something changed earlier than expected.  Total accident about the popcorn, but it fit perfectly!

Glad you particularly enjoyed the framing.  This being the first video where I was mostly behind the camera, it was nice to put more time into the framing.  The first shot had the camera tripod on a skateboard to push in!

Love With Teeth era so thank you for that. heart

Thank you so much, was hoping it’d be a creepy experience for all!  (but in a fun way)

Thank you, that means a lot to me.  He unfortunately did not receive an Oscar but he did receive A Biscuit.  lol

Glad (?) the ending was sad!  It is a challenge to try to make something emotional in a short amount of time, so that’s a huge compliment from you.  (ps Frank is okay, we had a stunt double)

(pps Frank was the stunt double)

Thanks for watching the video!  I really love drones but sometimes wonder how boring it comes across to listeners since it’s more of a monotonous sound (at times) - glad you liked it!

HUGE compliment coming from my film buddy!  Wow.  Humbled and honored.  Um, can I just splice in a space alien at the end and enter it?  ha ha ha!  We had a lot of fun making this and it was an interesting learning experience in “storyboarding” and trying to do narrative.  Lots to keep track of in terms of angles and coverage and trying to make angle edits make sense.  We’ll have to make some more this year!

(You are always welcome to be overly critical of other filmmakers if you are complimenting me LOL)

Frank having a fall when I’m locked out of the house and auditory hallucinations as a concept are two of my nightmares so it was fun (!?) to combine them conceptually!  It was a challenge to tell a wordless story, we’ll have to try it again!

It was AMAZING how the focus pulled in the tree, and it really DOES mirror the Hemlock tree at the end of each video!  Wildly serendipitous moment.  I don’t think it is a Hemlock, but it could be!

So kind of you.  Wow.  I consider your music very emotionally stirring so it really means a lot that you find it strong.  Glad the video touched you as well.

The team thanks you!  Also appreciate you giving both the song and video individual treatment.  Making videos for the songs is interesting - feels like painting and then also framing and hanging it up in a gallery - having this extra ability to shape the audience’s interaction experience.

No worries, look how late I am with responses and listens.  Trying to catch up this week.  I appreciate you used the word displacement.  I think the rhythm displaces you, and then later on the texture displaces you.  I hope the video does the same!

PieBaron wrote:

I especially appreciate the comment on progression because I aspire to make “listenable” and “arranged” noise music that tells a story or at the very least holds interest!

muh BROBA thank you so much, it was wild how we just winged it, but I have to give a lot of credit to Frank and Diez for really selling it with their appearances!
