Atmospheric Reflections

In a perfect world, this song would have had all the guitar parts come in at different times, there would have been a B section, there would have been lyrics and a chorus.  The drum beat would have been performed on acoustic drums.  I tried playing drums to this, but this is a little too fast for me, especially because I have not been practicing.

I looped the two elements (guitars & drums) and had some fun using things like filters, delay, bit reduction, repeat edits, reversing sections and EQing to make a little variety.  In a perfect world, I would spend more than 3 hours on a song, and I would put attention into the composition, arrangement, and I would practice for a few days before recording, and THEN I would add all the little touches like effects.  Anyway, I am not beating myself up, I like how this little jam turned out, and I am learning more about how to take my compositions to the next level.  Something AWESOME was that my husband helped me clean up the basement studio - you all would be shocked if you saw how disorderly my workstation has been.  Also cleaning up dead bugs, mouse droppings, cobwebs - it was a real nightmare.  I still have a ton more to do, but the place is vacuumed and relatively dust free.  I can't believe this, but I've never had all my electronic devices on one shelf before, they've always been scattered all over the place.  Next thing to do is to locate and label all the power supplies and associated cords.  SO MANY CORDS AND CABLES GEE WILLIKERS

Love you all!

Perfect worlds are overrated. I'll take this track as it is any day.
It's got a neat atmosphere and satisfying sense of progression!

oh wow this is so gorgeous

What a perfect image!  That's actually what I was seeing in my mind with the "super reverb" section.  Imagine that scene and the camera pushes in on the mountain top to find a band performing smile

Yeah I was beating myself up about not developing some of my tracks, but then I realized that I still could.  Come January we're all going to have a crud ton of ideas to expand upon.  Really solid core jam on this one, and I really enjoyed the buffet of effects.  Bit crush was my fav.

Lovely track, captures a mood and then floats in it. I really like the little drum fills throughout

I totally like this guitar hooks. The electronic beats make the track even more special. A good combination.
As mentioned before, Perfect worlds are overrated.

I'd even go so far as to say that the little imperfections are often what make a track.  Although, I can't say I spot any obvious flaws here.  Sounds like a nice finished track to me.  It's catchy and has a nice energy.

This world may not be perfect, it's a better one with you and this song in it.

Maybe next year isn't a perfect one either, but at least you'll be able to do things to this song to make it closer to perfect.

Very cool guitar riff, it's like light stoner rock. I like how the drum changes around 2:33 into a chiptune like sound, which gives a different vibe to this section.

Sounds so good, the guitar just flows, beats give a nice energy, usually once a year my wife has had enough of all my clutter and has me tidy everything up, it does look great with everything in its place and lined up, but within a few weeks usually back to records lying all over the place, pieces of gear on the floor, tripping over cords.

All on one shelf! Nice! This is super nice, love the guitars in all the FX. Good mix of everything!

This sounds really tight with the electronic drums in a good way.  Somehow the tight drums give the warm guitars more space to do their thing. Very catchy guitar riffs and beat. Best thing about a clean studio is pulling it all apart next time inspiration hits and taking all those toys off the shelf!

Love the sound of the dualing guitars meshing with the fast paced drums.  Had me finger-drumming along.

Really like the guitars too. Nice track. smile

This song gives me immediate vibes of "Buoy"  by The Joy Formidable, so I connected with this right away. Excellent tone on that guitar smile

Great track dude with some cool experimentations.  Very cool.  I wish I put some time aside to record some guitar.  I'm running out of year!
