Shri Yantra

Early in the week a little keyboard line popped into my head, so I got it down...and it didn't at all make it to this piece. I did use it as a jumping-off point to some slow, syncopated rhythms (with Ableton 64 Pad Kit Jazz), but it didn't sit at all with them. Instead, I added a very simple keyboard line, recorded some guitar (PureSalem Mendiola) straight to the board (with two different keys), and then some bass in response. I'd had a thought of chopping a lot out of this one, and have the instruments sparser, and some of that thought gets carried through here. This one's another four-track-only piece, though it was almost just three tracks--I put the simple guide keyboard back in.

Inline effects: drums got Max Humanizer. Bass got EQ8 for low-end rolloff. Guitar got some high-pass Auto-Filter with drive.

Sends: Valhalla Supermassive, Echo, and a room-sized convolution reverb. Full-chain multi band compression/limiting  (flat EQ) on the stereo buss.

Title comes from there being 43 triangles in the Shri Yantra.

Sweet atmosphere on this one.  Love that supermassive pad droning in the background, such a cool texture.

Makes me think of a more chill Tycho, especially the bass playing. The pad in the background is very nice as well!

Whatever the melody was, the guitar is doing some nice stuff.

this soundscape is excellent! so much space here but it's really grounded by that bass
