Mersenne

By onezero on January 14, 2020 5:01 pm

Travel for work is slated to take up much of the week, so here's one of a series of guitar (PureSalem Mendiola) + Moyo passive volume pedal + Max/MSP.  The patch has four delays, with different fractional multiples of a common base time--in this case, three seconds.  Input goes through the WavesFactory Cassette VST, then to the delay network, to a convolution reverb, and optionally can bleed back to the input.  Delay times can be snapped to new values, but I didn't use that in this piece.  There's a much longer fade with output > input bleed that I opted to shorten here.

Title from the fact that the number 3 is the first Mersenne prime (2^n - 1).

Beautiful. Sounds like a string quartet.  Great tone and vibrato.

Thank you!  There's definitely a quartet thing with the four delays, and the vibrato is a combination of simulated wow/flutter with leaning on the Bigsby.
