Lunar-Solar

Another one of those busy weeks, with another phase of home-studio-organizing. As a result...it was just easier to do a little all-in-the-box jam.  I had a few syncopated rhythms in mind, and put those down with a set of 808 samples. I played with a few additional instruments, but nothing quite had the right sensibility until I went with pad and bass instruments in Analog, worked up from the default state. One channel of Rhodes (Electric)...got changed to a few other things before I came back to using Rhodes. And finally I've made a drum rack for the hand claps, rather than putting up with an Impulse instrument. so that's a total of five tracks.

I'd worked on this fairly late Saturday, and felt that it was kind of a mess...until listening back Sunday afternoon and realizing that it just needed some tweaking. So...here's a little jam.

Sends/inlines: built-in Drum Rack on the 808, Auto-Pan combined with chorus on the Rhodes to give it a slightly different character than the one I usually go for. Sends: two convolution and two Echo, each with an auto-filter in front of it to roll off lows.  Full-Chain processing on the output. Automation on echo sends. And I used Max Humanizer on the drums and claps.

Title comes from the 33-year length of the interaction of the lunar and solar cycles.

Humanizers are an awesome tool.

Groovy. Nice tension 2:30 in.

Nice, loving the feel here. Great dubby delays and verbs, groove is right on!
