Hexagonal Self

By onezero on May 1, 2022 11:19 pm

Another busy week/weekend, so here's another quickly-tracked thing that needed some longer attention in editing. Friday night, I tracked some bass to a click, and wasn't sure where it was leading. Drums (64 Pad Kit Rock) followed Saturday evening, and finally guitar (PureSalem Mendiola, no effects) on Sunday. All the usual stuff is going on here: P pickup and flatwounds (with EQ-8 low-end rolloff) in the bass, Max Humanizer on the drums, alternating pickups on the guitar, one convolution reverb on everything and a touch of delay on the drums. Wide&Warm preset on the output.

The title comes from 435 being a [hexagonal number](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexagonal_number) and a [self number](https://oeis.org/A003052).

Nice bass tone.

Kind of a missed opportunity to play in 6/4, but the groove is good as always
