I'd had no particular idea coming to mind for this week's track, until Friday evening, when I had been listening to one of the ambient live improv pieces I'd done on Monday, and thinking that it both could be a long pad in the background of the track, but also that it suggested a few rhythms. I pulled it into Live, and put up a few rhythms with Ableton's 64 Pad Kit Special. Then I tracked a few bass lines (Epiphone bass, EQ-8 low-end rolloff) in response. Saturday evening, I added a few bits of Ableton Electric, and Sunday afternoon a few phrases of guitar (PureSalem Mendiola, Vox Wah, Auto-Filter high-pass)...and a couple bits of (possibly gratuitous?) percussion, and Max Humanizer on the drums.
The ambient guitar line is PureSalem Mendiola through Balls Effects KWB pedal, Vox Wah, Moyo volume, Max/MSP eight-delay system including convolution reverb and various dirt-encouraging VSTs. It's...a mood.
Sends: Ableton Delay, and two different returns of Valhalla Supermassive.
The title comes from 50 being a magic number in nuclear physics: those are numbers indicating complete electron shells in various atoms.

The ambient pad as the backdrop really fills it out. Solid bass groove with great atmosphere. I like how the guitar decay can meld with the ambient background.
Nothing wrong with the drums, it's a nice, complete whole.
this song had neat space - the mix is really interesting! the drone in the background is a really nice touch
