Savitri

By omegachild on January 22, 2012 1:06 pm

I finally made it. As some of you may know, I'm currently in North india at about 6000ft and internet is pretty dodgey so I missed week 2. Not only that but it has been quite a hectic journey up until now.
You can check out my blog which i'm trying to update every few days ---> http://omegachild.blogspot.com
There is a photo on there of me sitting on Savitri hill in Pushkar where I wrote most of this song. I think it captures the vibe there after getting up at 4am to climb this thing for sunrise freezing my ass off.
I haven't had much time to mix this plus I've got some crappy headphones which doesn't help, but hey, enough with the excuses, let me know what you all think.

Great track, and it's cool that you wrote it on location. I've been to Northern India myself - Rishikesh.  Happy travels.

that must have been a cool experience. nice one

Man, I heard this track without reading that you were in India, and thought of India. I never went to the north asides Delhi, but I hear wonderful things! Plus, 6000ft is bound to do something to your head, in a good way. Very nice work!

love the snareclap, so deep. really nice layering and arrangement!

this makes me want to be in india smile great song

Thanks guys, I'm glad you got the India vibe, that's what I'm going for over here smile

Liked it, very nice.

Dude - congrats on the tune.  Feeling that 6000ft vibe :-)  My salute to you for getting your tune done on location.  I'll be on tour later in the year so this inspires me everything will be ok with WeeklyBeats!

Niiicceee! We really feel that you were high in the mountain when mixing!

Bien jou

This is super tight.  Great job!

Solid track.  Nice builds.  What did you use to write the track?  I'm just curious as I'll be travelling later this year and will have to sort a travelling rig of some sort smile

chiiiill

Sweet man, like it. Epic story behind it

I like how this takes on a really nice hypnotic feel to it towards the end. Good work.

That photo is amazing and I am jealous. I think I will be writing one of my tracks outside where it is peaceful.

Thanks everyone. I'm currently pretty high at about 8000ft now, so power has been a bit of an issue as well as the below zero temps.
Rdomain- I use a macbookpro running logic and native instruments. I've got my Maschine over here but I've been using my akai mpkmini alot more to be honest. I've also got a hyperjuice external battery for extra battery life on the road. When I ordered the hyperjuice battery it also came with a car adapter which has been useful over here.
