homesick

She is more than a little bit homesick, so she began writing a song in the style of the music she grew up with - Priscilla Herdman, Carole King, Steeleye Span etc...the older she gets the more she is attracted to that kind of folk/pop music.
We sincerely hope you like it and that if you too are far from home that this song eases your homesickness somewhat. Apologies for the shitty guitar playing - been neglecting it - there was loads of dust on the instrument and the fingers that played it were completely rusty...more practice needed!

Lyrics:
Hey kid, what's the use in crying
Your tears can't rearrange what is done
Hey kid, what's the use in flying
When you can't fold up your wings and just live

You're waiting for a rescuer, a life-boat on the sea
You know it's gonna be, quite a while
Before you hold your breath this time, I know it's hard to bear
You're always gonna care, but it's worth it

Now, hey kid, what's the use in crying
Your tears can't rearrange what is done
Hey kid, what's the use in flying
When you can't fold up your wings and just live....

Nice harmonies and I reckon the guitar part could be cool if it was more lo-fi esp if you weren't happy with the playing.  May as well make it seem intentional  smile  and it could give the song more grit.  But that's just my personal taste!

very nice piece.

Really lovely. I agree with rdomain--make the guitar sound more lo-fi and go for a loose, gritty feel. I think it would suit the song.

Love it.
