The Weapon

By Nyarlos on January 23, 2022 8:57 pm

Butt Rock. A very special type of radio ready rock music, now its against my Creed to be rude about this kind of stuff, but after recording this I felt dirty, like I had bathed in a Puddle of Mudd. I really wanted the choruses to hit hard, but its more like its a bridge, then an Alter Bridge, but they still hit like a Five Finger Death Punch. Oh well, here I Staind, feeling Trapt trying to get a style of music right that Im not really that good at, I feel if you payed ten cents for this you should ask for your Nickelback, I really do feel a bit Disturbed by it.

Jokes over, this week is an absolutely terrible pedal. "the Weapon" by Digitech is a multi mode signature pedal by the guitars of Disturbed. And about every mode in it is awful. BUT!!!!! It actually has a passable cabinet sim that wasn't actually as bad as it seemed to be running into an amp. All the lead tracks are pedal straight to interface, and that was a real surprise on a pedal like this. So it did raise above some of my expectations. Everything else is harsh and a bit offensive, like the "sitar" mode in the intro. But the song is done, so it did get the job done.

Pedals:
1. Digitech the weapon. Even with all treble rolled off, its still really harsh. But the cab sim was decent.
2. Boss Metal Core: Pretty uninspiring but adequate higher gain rhythm tone.
3. Boss Delay: Cause it was lying there.

hahaha lol lol lol nice write up. I just yawned, so I guess you nailed it? good job! haha. Solo section from 3min is pretty interesting. Maybe too interesting for butt rock?

I feel so attacked! Oh uhh, I mean, I've never heard of ANY of those bands, nor do I own any of their albums or have any favourite songs of theirs... Stop judging me! tongue

I hear what you mean about the harshness, but I think you did well considering the lack of useful tones available. Where's the yarling vocals though? Just change "with arms wide open" to "this pedal's hopeless" tongue

Remember Tremonti can play! There are a few good players in there, and some of the Bands can really write a hook

I see no butt rock in any of your tunes lol, you might listen to some borderline Butt Rock, that never makes YOU butt rock lol

Some tasty licks in here, especially during the solo section

You got some good sounds out of it all though, quite relaxing in a way

That description had me LOL

The song is legit though!  Great solo.  Cool counter point riff at the end of the solo
