Speaker Test Generi-Metal 1

Got a cheap 4x12 cab a little while ago, and chased down a quad of different speakers with the idea to make an interesting recording cab with 4 different options on tap. So the next 4 weeks will be all very similar generic metal songs all recorded on different speakers to see how they travel in a mic situation.
Week 1: The Eminence Cannabis Rex
One of the shops old repairmen lists the CR as the ultimate upgrade for Fender Style Combos, but had a few issues for me on gainier sounds.
Cons: Slightly Harsher Top End, something I always have to fight anyway, but there is a spike somewhere that gave me issues. Quite a 'grainy' tone, maybe should have tried some clean tone to see if that was better. May possibly respond better to a more vintage style distortion.
Pros: A quite dynamic, air pushing speaker, on heavy chugs and bassy bits it really pushed more air giving quite dramatic spikes of 2db or so just on the low end stuff.
Overall: For high gain applications, probably better as a 2nd Mic speaker, add to another smoother sound to give a dynamic popping bass and prominent mid.
