Five Minute Fluff

By Nyarlos on June 19, 2022 10:48 pm

Fell a bit behind last week, so to get back into the groove I gave myself a 5 minute challenge, try to write the riffs and form in less than 5 minutes.

And it sounds like it, but hey, got something done lol

Was aiming for an odd time in music, the early 90's had a moment when groovy white guy funky metal was a thing. So try to imagine me in fluorescent shorts and an Anthrax t-shirt and dreads for this one.

Pedals Used:
Blackstar LT Dual: Not bad dual channel distortion pedal, I think both channels are the same, and sounds decent, but actually quite a quiet pedal. At max volume I reckon its just shy of the volume of the clean channel its plugged into, so that's odd.
BYO Suhr Riot: This one wasn't quite how I remembered it after I built it, almost a fuzz thing going on, with a really big bottom end, wondering if its faulty lol
Positive Grid Bias Delay: PG was trying really hard a few years ago to break out of the software game, and did some things really right, but these multi pedals didn't hit with the general public, they pretty much dropped all their hardware a year or two into it.

Much fun was had listening, sounded like it was fun to make too!

Wow, really weird to see a hardware pedal of a Bias effect. I wonder why they thought they'd try making hardware when probably most of the people buying their software like the convenience of not relying on hardware, haha.
Btw I was sitting here like a goof listening for the odd time signatures and realized later you wrong "An odd time in music history" haha. Really solid job at coming up with all these riffs in a 5 minute time-span. Kick ass solo too!

I'm definitely listening to this for longer than 5 minutes, prog metal is my jam.
