Warriors Theme

By NWSPR on October 11, 2020 11:58 pm

Kind of, but definitely inspired by the theme music from the film Warriors.  Speed trash in three and a half hours on Sunday.  I was driving down to Pennsylvania to see my father-in-law and theme from The Warriors came on my playlist and I new that was what I wanted to do with the rest of my day smile Wish I had some more time to really get into that 70s/80s faux rock sound. Tie a bandana around my forehead, and put on an acid wash jean vest. You know what I'm talking about. But no gang signs, yo.

I know what I'm watching tonight.  Hope all are well and healthy!

The dirty bass and cool guitars and synths   are great. Very nice. I like the drums too. More cowbell. smile .

Yeah, totally nailed that vibe.  Perfect soundtrack to getting into some shenanigans in the early 80's.

I've never seen it, but this song is tight.

Definitely nailed the rock sound here. The interesting thing is that it doesn't even sound that fake.

Sweet sound!!!

This stuff sounds mucho masculine and I don`t know why. But girls can also have fun with it too, I guess.

Hell yeah man, this is awesome!  Dude, your guitar tone on this is perfect.  Someone else did something Warriors themed too recently too, but I forgot who it was.

Awesome work - that indeed reminds of the Warriro soundtrack. The guitar tone is spot on, with the synth layers. The bass has an awesome tone.

The track has the attitude, the swagger that is perfect for this. I like how the chord changes are simple but really have a good dynamic impact on the song.

Ah that was me but I had a few too many samples from the movie (and not appropriately cleaned of copyrights), so it was appropriately taken down.

Sorry for the gif, my brain is not functioning.

This worked perfectly. It would sync up every couple loops or so.

Bad. Ass. That groove. Awesome guitar and synth. I gotta go watch the Warrios again. This fits it great.

Yeah, right? cowbell got lost in the mix.  I also forgot to turn up a guitar lead so it's missing.  That's what you get when you upload a few minutes before deadline smile

Thanks! Ironically I should have put in more 80s synths but I ran out of time.  Usually that's my thing.  Next time I'll lead with the synths.

Check it out if you get a chance.  It's cheesy but overall it reminds me of a video game where this gang has to get through all the levels of the game before morning.  The music is good if you're into late 70s early 80s stuff.

Yeah, I may have rocked it too much.  Tried to pump up the wankiness of the 70s guitar style like a movie version of rock music rather than actual late 70s rock.  My version actually sounds a bit more 90s or late 80s Manchester vibe but that was not my intention.  I'll take another wack at it in the future.  Thanks for checking it out!

I had to wear a tiny leather vest to achieve this level of masculinity.

Ha, that's cool.  Such an epic movie.  Very sample worthy.

Thanks! I love my Gibson Ripper bass.  It really just sounds bad ass all on it's own.  Just don't try to play jazz on it smile

Thanks! Yeah, the simple two chord change give is that anthem feel.  I was inspired by the movie's attitude and swagger.

Good to know... I did another film inspired track this week and was going to use samples from the film "Thief" but then I thought I might get bounced.  Glad I left them out.  Thanks for checking it out.

Awesome gif.  Looks just like my daily commute on the subway.  Every Friday is wear your matching leather vest day on the F line.

Yeah, great 80s flick.  It's like watching a video game.  Love the Joe Walsh track in the soundtrack as well.

Hell yeah!  Fits perfectly.

Have you ever played The Warriors video game?  It's wonderful.

No, not familiar with it.  Hope it has some of the original cheesy dialog though smile
