VKTRS - NWSPR Version

By NWSPR on March 4, 2012 11:44 pm

An instrumental version of the Buggles song Video Killed The Radio Star. I am not big on covers but an old high school buddy from 800 miles away contacted me on Facebook and asked that I record an instrumental version of this song so that he could take his niece into a recording studio to record cello and vocals over it.  I just delivered this to him last night and he seems pleased.

Anyway, I spent my free time this week on recording this track and have nothing else to offer up sad

I enjoyed it although I could not get all the nuance of the original.  Hope you like it and accept this unoriginal offering this week if the powers that be permit it.

This made me so happy, the bass makes my booty shake cool

I feel like I'm in one of those vintage-y videos. noice sounds

think i prefer this one to the original smile

oh,such a good track!! very pleasant sounds and nice melody!!

Awww, shucks... thanks guys.  I doubled the bass using my Gibson Ripper and then fat analog Yamaha CS-5 synth for some parts.  Duble the bass = good.

Lots of nice sounds.  What did you use for that piano sound?

I used a really crappy patch from my Akai Miniak and further destroyed it with distortion and filtering to get a small am radio sound.

HAPPY HAPPY SYNTHICORD! Bugglesing out!

very happy tune! i absolutely love that piano sound!

This sounds vaguely familiar.  I can definitely hear the lyrics on the chorus.  I think I have heard the original long ago.

ohhhwa oh
