Uzewkonrop In (unauthorized)

By NWSPR on December 13, 2020 9:47 pm

I kind of sort of did an unauthorized reimagining of Devieus' track from last week entitled Uzewkonrop In.  It's one my fav Devieus variations for 2020 and I would have attempted a more accurate cover, but as I was playing my bass to the original recording I started playing in double time and developed this slightly more punk rock version.  Hope that's okay because I also added part of the original as an homage and to show the evolution (I'm showing my work). Some liberties have been taken with the best of intentions.

Those beautiful melodies towards the end are the original recording I lifted from the track.  I added bass and drums on top.  Otherwise all credit to Devieus.

Hope you like it Devieus. Or at least not too pissed off smile

Only two weeks left!!  Hard to believe the end is in sight and we've made it so far!  Be well.  See you in the comments.

////////////////////////////////

I will be producing a compilation album called The International Sounds of Brooklyn SciFi for the 2021 Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival.  Let me know if you would like to submit a track and I'll get details before the year is up. Looking for Sci-Fi, Future Sounding, Fun, or Dystopian tracks that we will put in the program for attendees of the online festival.

Here's the 2020 festival website with this year's films https://2020.brooklynscififilmfest.com/

You can reach me at [email protected].  Or submit your info here: https://brooklynscififilmfest.com/music-submission

The festival will be in September of next year so you have time.  Thanks!

What a cool concept! big_smile You and Devieus should totally collaborate on more tracks.

Pretty awesome idea for a song, love how it blended into his at the end.  I was going to deduct a couple points for no bird, but glad that he made an appearance.

I always think it's cool to see collaborations happen on WeeklyBeats authorized or otherwise.  It adds to the sense of community.

I've done quite a few space inspired tracks over the years so perhaps I'll try to submit something.  September of next year is a long ways away though.  I might forget.  I'll bookmark the website.

Wow, now the legend of the Uz---- Inn intensifies. This is the soundtrack for rock club at the Inn. This is great fun. I'm rocking out. Great inclusion of his original piece, the sounds contrast, but work! Yes, here's to collaboration on WB, this is great community!

If you would not have done this, I would have done an anauthorized Devieus track remix. Brilliant WB marriage.

Very cool, very punk. Great job to you and Devieus...

Strong anthemic arrangement this week.  Nice build up towards the end into that outro.

For real though, this is amazing stuff, it rocks and I love it.

Regarding authorization, all my songs are uploaded under CC Attribution Share Alike (BY-SA), which is the most lenient license that still has attribution, pretty much for this exact reason (legally you're supposed to do the same since it's technically altered, but whatever, I hereby waive that). My composition generator is just that, a composer, it generates ideas more than anything (at least in its current state, it does make kicking music still) and you took this idea to a truly amazing place.

So yea, it was never unauthorized, sorry about that.

Thanks, and I concur. Very cool and punk both.

I'd be down with that. I really dig NWSPR's style.

You can still do that. I remember doing a collab with you back in 2018, there's no reason we can't do it the other way around.

This is AMAZING!  I like it better that it is UNAUTHORIZED

Perfect that you mixed in the original as well.

Only a matter of time until Devieus' machine becomes self-aware and it actually ends up sounding like this!

I would but Devieus finds my grammar untenable.  But I'm working on it smile Just kidding, I would definitely like to do more collaboration. Authorized or otherwise.

Hey man, I totally birded it using the Moog Grandmother.  Without the birds, the track falls apart.  Thanks!

Bookmark, shmookmark... submit a track! You've got a science fiction novel and your saw is like a theremin.  You got this smile

Thanks! My favorite part is the blending of the original track.  It happened by accident as I was playing over the track as a reference and it poked through the mix.  The original melodies blended well.

Ha! I would love to hear that.  Thanks!

Thanks! It started with a more sedate recording but then the Ripper bass overtook me and I just held on for the ride smile

How dare you unauthorize my unauthorization! That's it, I'm breaking up the band. But I did enjoy paying homage to your work and process smile I wish I would have spent more time on it.  Still parts I had in mind but didn't have time.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure what I did could still be illegal in several countries, so yeah... Unauthorized!

Sorry, them's the breaks, I have the legal higher ground now!

There's a whole year coming up where you can work on it if you feel like it, maybe even submit it to the sci-fi festival.

Awesome punk feels in this and loved how you included the original in there.
