Southern Robots

By NWSPR on August 28, 2022 11:10 pm

A couple of years ago I bought an inexpensive Fender Precision bass that had some issues.  I just got it back from a an overhaul at Main Drag Music with new set up including flat wound strings. Very different from my usual Gibson bass.  Really smooth as butter.  So this track is me messing around with it and also lots of messy guitar.  Just a fun kind of Sunday thing.  I'm very hung over from going out to see Peter Hook perform last night and made very poor drink decisions mixing a margarita, a vodka, and pints of beers followed by a long belchy walk back to the subway station. Does that paint a nice picture?

It's a really crappy track that I spent a few hours on after trying to get a different track started and giving up.  I guess I'm in the doldrums. Anyway, it sounds kind of southern rock-ish so, Southern Robots!

Hope all is well!

I'm really digging the rock
but I wouldn't hold it against you if you decide to bring the Liberation back

yeeeya! southern robots bring it! heart

Sometimes working on crappy tracks and enjoying the jam session is the best way to spend a Sunday. I'm for it.

Awesome bass tones. Very nice. Piano chords and organ are a fun addition to the track.

I missed your vocals in this one. but as an instrumental it is rocking very well.

It has a raw, loose, almost ramshackle vibe to it it, which is cool.  Impressive you could rock out this much with a hangover.  These days I seem to be dead to the world for a couple days afterward if I indulge in a few beers.  smile

Oh that bass sound is really nice. It is really smooth and the mix is great - it’s just the perfect right amount to drive the track without overpowering it. Nice groovy track!

Feeling the drunk party vibes when that piano joins the track.  Excellent guitar sound throughout and love how the outro came in.  Hell yais!
