Sleep Away

By NWSPR on July 29, 2018 11:59 pm

This week I improvised a minimalist ambient/drone arrangement with low strings, single guitar, two passes on Moog and Korg piano. My baby has gone away to sleep away camp. See you soon Livy Goose!

Hope your week is going well. Looking forward to checking out everyone's tracks throughout the week.

Really chill, I like this smile

Yeah nice ambient atmosphere.  It almost sounds like evil planetarium music or something.  Some of the tones are maybe a little distorted for regular planetariums, but the evil ones will totally be all over it. It really does sound like something you could float in space to.  I dig it a lot!

Very nice chilled Ambient Track!!!
The notion of drones gave me some goosebumps because of thousens of noisedrone videos without any musical or visual  context...
This one is just beautyfull and i love the guitar melodies and the piano with the synths big_smile

Definitely improved.

Thanks! It is much more laid back for me. I think first piece I've committed without drums or percussion.

Thanks! love the description and definitely onboard with evil planetarium music as my new genre of choice. Is it a sub-genre of math rock?

Thanks! You're right, it's not so much a drone although it started out that way and retains a strong pedal point in C but as with moth things, I couldn't leave well enough alone and added more melodic qualities, so I relabeled the description with "ambient". It's more ambient than drone.

Thanks! I actually meant improvisation when I posted with 1 minute to deadline... but I'll take your vote of confidence as an improved improvisation.  I need to improve my spelling skills as it is mostly improvised smile

Thanks for the comments!

Feels like the end of a journey, heading back home; First working through the weariness of a long trip then feeling renewed energy as familiar settings and places start to come up the horizon. Solid improv skills!!

This is fantastic heart Reverbed ambient guitar is one of the best soundscapes out there, this is so lovely. Sounds really meditative, but it has such a sweet and tender vibe to it as well. Really enjoy this, absolutely top stuff heart

This is very impressive, I love how the heavy guitar drone slwly gives way to the latter elements. Great piece of work!

Thanks! I was bummed after dropping my daughter off for sleep away camp and kind of lost without her. Very much in a funk.
