Phaseshifter - Robot Mix

By NWSPR on February 26, 2012 2:31 pm

The Robots are pulling out all the new wave stops for this week.  Most everything in my tiny studio utilized including several tracks of Casio VL-Tone layered over arp line from the Novation K-Station and melodic monotone synth lines from the Yamaha CS-5 and Radio Shack Concertmate.  Also some additional support from the Akai Miniak for swells and "tinkly" sounds.  Roland 505 drums mixed with layered, distorted drum loops.  And of course my trusty Gibson "Ripper" bass guitar.  The synthy horn lines at the end are really inspired by the Human League's "Being Boiled" from Tavelogue and also the electronic horns used by the band "Landscape".

Here's what my studio looks like this morning upon uploading this week's track.  Actually much neater than it usually is.  It is standing room only, in this tiny robot cave in Brooklyn.

Hope you enjoy this... had a lot of fun working with it this week and look forward to listening to everyone's new stuff tonight!

@Parallelis, I am the one to be jealous... You are out-performing me with a tennis ball and Low Pass Filter.  Love your stuff.  I am just a pack rat that hordes old gear and likes twisting knobs on old analog synths

Oh shit, is that a '62 Silvertone in the bottom right of the picture? If so, I have the same guitar smile
Dance-alicious track by the way!

@jiffypop23, why yes, that is a '62 Silvertone.  Very observant.  I have to confess it is not mine but has been on semi-permanent loan from a friend of mine I play music with in a different project called T.I.M.
