Omega Man (The Family's Got a Plan)

By NWSPR on January 15, 2012 5:51 pm

This track comes out of my recent, rediscovered obsession for the 1971 Charlton Heston film which I watched 3 or 4 times over the holidays.  Analog synthesizers (Yamaha CS-5, Moog Liberation), electronic harpsichord, bass and acoustic guitars and roland TR 505 drum machine.  I tried to borrow from the film's sound track and funky 70s futuristic themes for a dark but campy feeling for the song.

The mix could definitely be better... I blew my left channel monitor halfway through mixing cause I'm getting deaf and mix the bass too loud.  I had to mix quietly to avoid crackling and who the f*ck can mix quietly? Excuses, excuses.

I don't notice anything weird with the mixing, sounds great!

Great mix of instruments. Really neat track!

I enjoyed this. Kudos.

Good track and kudos for mixing the vocal with the track
