Begone Yon Evil Spirits

By NWSPR on November 8, 2020 11:11 pm

This week, aptly week 45 is our goodbye to #45.  Guitar, bass, harmonicas with field recording of the spontaneous celebration in Brooklyn when the presidential election was called for Biden. People came out of there homes and into the streets banging pots and pans.  We were hollering and waving while our neighbor served champagne.  I've never seen anything like it!

The audio is captured from iPhone video I shot at Bartel-Pritchard square on Saturday afternoon during the celebrations.  And this song is dedicated to the moment we saw the possibility os a brighter 2021!

I banged this one out playing my guitar through the bass settings, not tuning either the bass or guitar.  It's really abrasive so might not be as fun to listen to as it was to record.

Hope you're well and safe!

A fantastic reason to celebrate and this captures the celebratory vibe nicely.  Here's hoping for a much better 2021.

Love the interlude right in the middle. So perfect.

Sometimes the coolest tunes are the imperfect ones. Bon Iver has his off-tune tunings that he only uses on a track. People say he plans it, I say he just didn't tune up some strings and liked the raw nature of the sound. This track captures the rawness of people's spirits that day.

I liked the authenticity and the genuine energy of this track. Well done.

I love the active and contemporary mood of this. A great sigh of relief here as well smile

The guitar and bass tones are fantastic! I like how the ambient sample recorded on your phone kicks in towards the final minute to give a new dimension to the track.

It's not that abrasive, it's got a lot of spirit channeling through it that makes it just fine.

Also, "their* homes".

The harmonica is so sick.  Great mixing, and I love the sample at the end.

Goodbye to 45! whew, it's been a too long 4 years. This is super fun, I'm bouncing. So cool there was that celebration! So great you captured. Not sure if there was any out in the cold streets here in my city, but many of us were sure celebrating in our homes!
