The one promise I couldn’t keep, was a promise I made to my daughter. I told her I would keep her safe. I swore her that I wouldn’t let anything harm her.

Every time I close my eyes, all I see is her smile. Before she was killed, every time I closed my eyes, all I could see was her mother’s face. But now, all I see is her, Little Gold.

Two days before she was taken from me she asked me a question. She asked me “Daddy, who will save our soul”. I didn’t understand it at the time, now I ask myself that same question. Who will save our soul?

I’ve never been a religious man, but I sure hope my girls are somewhere better now. They didn’t deserve to be taken away like that.

“Who will save our soul?” I don’t think that matters anymore, my soul is far too gone to be saved. The bad things I’ve done will probably outweigh the good things. Besides, after what I plan to do with ‘them’, I wouldn’t want my soul to be saved.
