Nice bass! Getting an early Roland vibe from the ride cymbal there--606? (I'm kind of wondering if the ride could be a little quieter and the bass turned up a bit.)

All the drums are from an app called MV08, an 808 inspired iOS app. I like that ride cymbal too, especially with the delay. In fact, the whole groove came out of my first mess about with MV08 - built he rest on top of it. I really dig the punchy bass on your latest track. If I was as good at shaping the sound as you I think I’d be more confident in cranking it up.
Despite top billing, the bass could do with a bigger spotlight.
Agree with you both there. The 808 kick is too boomy, and just enough out of tune with the bass to bug me. I wished I had took down the decay and did a better job on the compression. Perils of mixing on headphones ... and not knowing what I’m doing.
Thanks for the input guys. I learn something every week around here!

Well, thank you! High praise! Glad to help! It's a process--we all continually work to improve our tracks. And this is a good one!
