Nice bass!  Getting an early Roland vibe from the ride cymbal there--606? (I'm kind of wondering if the ride could be a little quieter and the bass turned up a bit.)

Despite top billing, the bass could do with a bigger spotlight.

All the drums are from an app called MV08, an 808 inspired iOS app. I like that ride cymbal too, especially with the delay. In fact, the whole groove came out of my first mess about with MV08 - built he rest on top of it. I really dig the punchy bass on your latest track. If I was as good at shaping the sound as you I think I’d be more confident in cranking it up.

Agree with you both there. The 808 kick is too boomy, and just enough out of tune with the bass to bug me. I wished I had took down the decay and did a better job on the compression. Perils of mixing on headphones ... and not knowing what I’m doing. wink

Thanks for the input guys. I learn something every week around here!

Well, thank you!  High praise!  Glad to help!  It's a process--we all continually work to improve our tracks.  And this is a good one!
