Trials of Trypset

By noggin on September 10, 2022 10:03 pm

Out-from-nowhere collab-remix with the absolute homey Trypset. He took a passing request and gave me these tracks from one of his Digitakt / Mpc / microkorg compositions. A little massaging to make them work good in hex, a transfer to the m8, a couple hours by the creek later, and here we have it.
I got to give him major props too because his tracks had all this headroom that I'm not used to, and that actually really felt good... mixing with a bit of air to breathe in, then squashing and gluing it all together later.
Major muchas gracias to Dillon, and to everyone out there who digs and does this journey with me.

Awesome dub, instant fav, absolutely love the aggressive retrigs.

You arrangements are the bomb. Love the little pause to catch a breath.

Thank you - and appreciate the blast from the past. 10 years? Good lord. The retrigs were real fun, the source material was pretty on-the-beat so it encouraged me to go nuts rearranging it.

Dekuji. That slight release is probably my favorite part.

Good cause that boy Trypset is a true stanker :]

I love that you dropped a little silent break just passed halfway through, gave me pause in a way that makes everything so much more memorable... love this dub-reminiscent vibe, too heart

Thank you
Everybody loving the pause, but for me, its the comeback immediately following the pause that I was like...

Went mountain biking this afternoon and was listening to Horace Andy’s new Midnight Scorchers album, so was already in a dubby mood, this is killer, love the energy and perfect amount of glitch, that moaning synth at 1:50 sounds so dope.
