More tape house. Still very much in the experimental + honeymoon phase with plugins, so just kind of throwing things to the wall and making them stick. Did take some extra time to do some micro-edits like I've picked up from working with an m8. Man... the convenience of the m8 reseting an instrument to default parameters is something I can miss in Logic automation... I generally have to take time to make sure anything I've automated for a section goes back to default when I'm done with it. I know there are ways around this using touch recording, but I'm also trying out embedding automation in regions... truthfully I dont really get why those parameters won't reset if region automation goes out of scope, but eh, you learn to work with it.

Really cool piece! I agree about the UX of the m8 - it really hits the sweet spot of powerful yet easy to use, in a way that I miss when I'm working in other environments.

I love the retro cassette lofi sound design you are creating. It is absolute my taste.

I just love the sound of tape decay. Just slathering it on synths is so much fun. Great track

Yes, nice crackles and worbles.

A different sound from what I'm used to hearing from you, and still cool.  Evocative, too―especially that tape effect (need to see if there's a good app for that. tongue).  Jimmac is also working from a DAW this week―was there a memo?

Thanks for coming back! I actually think some of my friends that have been listening to my stuff for a while might think this is more in line with what they know ... last year's weeklybeats was a big excuse to depart, I'm trying to do things more off the cuff and naturally now.
Of course I can't ever throw off the experimenters coat so I'll keep doing stuff I've never done before and seeing what works.

Thank all yall for checking it out

yes this is the kind of warbly lofi i'm here for. favorited
