Music is subjective and all of that, but I don't really get the kind of classic rock drum solo. Like I appreciate the technical merit, but it stops being music for me. I can't dance to it, I can't concentrate to it. You can take a guitar solo to that extreme too, but I feel like there's more room for forgiveness there. I'm less likely to have to seriously actively listen to enjoy it.
This, on the other hand, is what it should be. It's like, I'm here to play and the groove will change when I feel the need for it to change. Rad percussion journey, love the weirdness around 1:10, and then just right back to it. Our drummer must have broken a stick or something, but now he's back to it.
Really fun
Way to keep the rhythm fresh throughout! This is getting me inspired to try a percussion-only track sometime.
