I still can't hear great from an ear infection a couple weeks ago.

I tried something a little more intelligent/atmospheric this week, inspired by the Good Looking Records crew. This included a lot more layers than usual, including things I made and samples from the Polyend Tracker content pack, Zero-G and Citizen DJ. I had less fun with this process overall but I am pleased with the results. I'll probably go back to chopping breaks again next week.

I've been learning more about mixing and mastering so I am trying a few things out this week, more next week. It will improve with more knowledge and experience, but also hopefully my ears will unplug and I'll be able to actually hear what I'm doing.

oooOOOoo love this vibe. great layers. well done!

Great result, shame the creation of it isn't a smooth.

i like all the sounds you used/made! end result was very smooth imo, looking forward to next weeks!

Nice soundscaping! Love the cover art too.

Oof, I totally feel ya on how crappy an ear infection can be in relation to music. The last time I had one it totally messed up my sense of pitch in the affected ear, almost like if you put a chorus effect on a song and turned the modulation way up so everything was out of tune from the right speaker. Weird! Thankfully went away after a day though.

Super impressive you can put out something like this with the current handicap. Very chill vibes from the start with a nice deep bass. I love jungle, always takes me back to dreamcast days.

Sounds like they tried to cover up the river with a bunch of urban development but it resurfaces every so often on its way to the sea and the cloud of tiny chirping birds are not far behind. I hope your ears feel better soon! You may need antibiotics

Damn if that's how you mix with your ears fucked I'll stick around to see what happens when you get better wink Love that hard panned high pitched sound that kinda tickles, the in and out fadings of the water sample, the sound design of the instrument introduced last...

Love the 90s DNB vibe, excellent track!

Great vibe. Really like how the bass layers with the running water.

Hope your ear recovery is quick and easy. I've had a couple ear issues in the past and it's awful. If you haven't had it checked out already, definitely do. That stuff can go from bad to worse quickly and it's usually an easy fix with some antibiotics like fetalface said.

Nice! Citizen DJ is a great source for spoken word samples. I've grabbed some stuff from there as well. Great vibe - the mellow swelling chords and delayed piano fit really well with your drums.

This feels good! Goes well with the image,  kind of drags you into it.

Really dig this track man. so much style.

Thank you for this ride. I feel fully energized now. Get well soon.

Smooth pads over this upbeat drum n bass beat. I like the vocal samples use too.

Love the vibe. love it love it. I want to take it as inspiration to be more intentional with my sounds.

Nice flow, love the pads and that beat just glides. Glad you mentioned Citizen DJ, I want to go look at that again.

that sub bass tho. take that, plugged ears!

Thanks. Reflecting on it this week, I may have just been making it harder on myself than i needed to. I am learning so much every week so far.

Thanks ViridianLoom! Sorry you also went through some ear stuff. It's low grade miserable. My balance was affected as well. Who knew ears were so important! (jk)

Thanks for the kind comment. I had fully forgotten how much jungle was in the dreamcast and really enjoyed listening to the songs on youtube. thanks for that!

Thank you! I downloaded a bunch from Citizen DJ a while ago but hadn't used it much until this week. I'll definitely be going back, it's got some neat stuff.

Thank you, I appreciate the close listen. I love vocal samples and I need to spend more time working on them. It's like I don't have the patience for them but I like the results.
