Bit meh this week. Some cool pieces, but things not working well together as a whole. Oh well. Next time.

this was pretty dope I felt - the low end was so nice. well mixed! and some of the fingering on the guitar lick parts was a cool change of pace to the overall swagger. got an image of a black and white sketched city scape and someone just walking down the sidewalk to it.

good to finally give a listen to some of your work after seeing you in the discordssszz.

really enjoyed this! lots of good interplay with the bass, overall a fun listen

Thanks both! smile

this is kind of what i did on my week 9 beat, use some unrelelated samples that had off timings

i'm into it!

your bass is nicely loud but not overblown.  do you have a secret?  are you compressing the bass or sidechaining or something else?

I generally mess with the bass sound design progressively over the course of the track to make it fit with whatever else is going on. Just by ear. It's like 50% getting the levels right, and 50% tweaking the distortion and filtering (and filter modulation) in order for things to sit right against each other.

Basses are often sidechained to the kick, just a bit, reduce the peaks.

I use light limiting on master (10 on the m8 limiter)

Everything is pure m8, so no per-track limiting or anything, just the master limiter and FX.

If it's useful, I'm happy to share bundles.

Sample chops and stutters are super nice
