Things Arise (76 BPM)

By N_ronvaldez on Yesterday 10:21 am

Here is what I have "latched onto making" out of the musician-residency I'm doing at a local nonprofit. I had (offscreen) used their equipment to record myself playing chime-bars live. Then there were some other decisions and nondecisions (accidents) that arose out of the composition and effects-chains. for this WB, I have used the power of an Ableton delay preset and simple ADSR to turn this audio into more of a drums feel. This WB I am uploading was completed on June 29th and it is now the early-morning of July 5th. Here is a link to the "stems" I started with (two-voice 16th notes gainstaged individually) - Things arise0_130BPM.

And, here is another iteration I had arrived at by Friday afternoon; EQ and FX-artifacts are all over the place so I didn't upload this as my primary MP3 - Things arise2_90BPM. There are more parts to this, which I plan to use as part of a scheduled live noise jam this morning on KDVS. EDIT: The dj was too sleep-deprived to drive to the station safely, so the show didn't happen. Gonna work some more on this (resynthesizing), but not for WB.
