Notes on Paper

By mysterioso on July 3, 2016 9:37 pm

Inspired by an article about completing a synthesizer designed by Daphne Oram, I started playing with a couple of pieces of software I've been neglecting, Phonopaper and Audiopaint.  Both of them work in similar ways and on similar sources, but each is subtly different, especially since Phonopaper can work on live video input.
The image for this piece includes the images I used as generative sources.

Some really neat abstract sounds on display here.  That Oram synthesizer in the article is ridiculously cool.

woah yikes awesome sound and i'm getting a monolith visual from it smile
like a digital choir!

Excellent
I Love daphne´s work smile
But the idea isn´t new -> 1920s!

Wow - I'll have to check out those programs. What you've done is… wow.

Mmmm… neither OS I'm using. Bummer.

Great piece! PhonoPaper is so much fun to use, I got introduced to it near the end of last year and it's great to get some really awesome sounds. I really like what you did with it. Awesome job!

behold this generative mind bending piece smile great job

Oh man I love pieces like this. The textures and sounds in this track were well spaced. It sounds like the constant drone sound is rising throughout the mix. Is that just me or is that what is happening?
