new program

i had planned to make a generative track this week, but I just couldn't get my generator going in time. this track is a track i had written for WB44, but rejected it. so I finished it up this week and made peace with it.

it's sorta like writing a program, where you move between pensive analysis to testing over and over again.

ha, I feel you on the programming analysis. Glad you were able to revisit and make some peace with this one. Cool deep descending bass line at 1:30. The outtro is really cool. Slowed and reverbed out

I really like the reverby high pitched synth at around 1:00.
This feels like I'm exploring the inside of a cave that holds many ancient secrets, but also has some high tech artifacts up its sleeves too.
Downtempo-y portion at 3:00ish is also great!
VERY cool.

It's great, this really didn't deserve to be deserted. The bass and drums are definitely overpowering way too much though. There's so much fun stuff happening in the other places.

the worst part... I know how to do a perfect mix every time and that is to use a reference track. but for some reason, i just can't get that habit going.

The low mid crowds out the mid which is what gives the whole track its bigness (like my track last week, which had no drums to mess it up).

grug know this. grug no do it when time come.
