I'm having a hard time articulating what this song is about. It's supposed to be a spell (interpreted through drum and bass, if that isn't too conceptual, i dunno), where each addition makes it bigger and more dangerous.

I'm going to try and keep going with this dark fantasy drum and bass thing for as long as it'll hold up.

here is the bundle. track starts around 30.

comments, questions, sacred rites are welcome.

This is awesome!! Love the beats and synths and how it tells a story.

Nice, great sound design, very lyrical, awesome track.  ~( ˘▾˘~)

I don’t listen to much drum and bass, but I love this track!

Great track! Lots of really good sounds! Nice direction you are going.

Very cool, with some great bass sounds.  I especially liked the classic 90s-jungle bass dives in the middle and the  break-through-the-clouds moment at 2:49.  Only crit is to consider using more chalk in magic circles

The spell worked on me!

yes yes, we have been quite impacted by the shortage of good quality chalk sad

interestingly, you mention lyrical. I did have lyrics in the form of some magic words I was going to say in some of the breakdowns (a little poem in latin), but it just felt so goofy and pretentious that i didn't.

I fall somewhat leftfield of pure drum and bass, but I take that is a good thing!

generally i flake out and move onto a different idea, but i'm not going to do that this time. gotta keep with one idea for as long as I can

how do you know if you don't mind me asking? ;P

Oh ha, just joking I guess. The song kept me captivated, guess that's how I knew, since I have a short attention span.

well I was hoping they got bigger!

Really like the staccato thing you've done to the break, the choppy ascending arp and the crazy basslines. The only thing that could make it better would be some spoken incantations...

I had some but couldn't stop laughing when trying to record them.

in spiram (per flamma)
separatum (solvit vincula sua)
gladio excisum (per vi)
cum gladio (aeternus)

There was going to be a sort of call and response. As if the spell whispered back some words.

fuck subtlety!!
