last week someone thought my track had "dune vibes" so I figured I would take a double harmonic major scale, and write a little 'alien abduction' style confession and make it into a track. Make a little sci-fi track.
It could use a better mix IMO, and maybe I didn't need to be quite SO literal with the confession (recorded it to an actual cassette player, then slowed it down). I feel like I nailed the tone for the first part, but couldn't quite get the second part to feel right.

The story is supposed to be a loop, where you approach this unknown thing, then, become the unknown thing, but I don't think I quite pull it off.
I couldn't make the shape out at first
it was scrambled. and unfamiliar
nothing recognizable
i moved closer and it moved
in the chaos I could see an eye fixed on me
i crouched beside it, terrified,
the eye spoke, like a memory like some other time deep in side me
The entity evaporated leaving behind a small semicircle metal ring
unsure of what it was that i was looking at, I picked it up
the ring had the same distortion field as the entity
it was rough to the touch, like paper, but clearly made of metal
it had an almost imperceptible groove running the length
and as I ran my hand over it
the distortion field expanded to infinity in all directions
i travelled through space and time
changing, mutating becoming something new
as I writhed on the floor
a person approached and I watched them walk up to me
place their hand on me (maybe would have been better to say crouched beside me, terrified and reflect the original passage)
and then I said
