SAKURO

By mukti on April 14, 2024 5:02 pm

Still caught up in the process of moving, so another short one. Thinking about all the cherry blossom trees blooming in Philadelphia these past two weeks, I tried to make a springtime song but ended up with something a bit more mysterious. Typically with my m8, I leave the scale set to C Chromatic, but for this I switched to C Hirajoshi and played the plucked macrosynth up and down the scale. I also heavily used modified versions of the Fireflies and Rolling Bass from Mikey303's RavePack, and threw in a handful of samples.

Any and all feedback is appreciated!

I saw the Esperanto word SAKURO used a few places in place of the Japanese word Sakura. I'm not 100% sure if its a correct translation, but I went with it!

The photo is obvious given the theme - I took this on a bike ride past a Japanese garden in Philly earlier this week.

Very hypnotic! Definitely has the lightness of a spring breeze. Nicely done!

The M8 pluck sounds pretty good here, vaguely oriental but not really any concrete instrument. Well built atmosphere on top of that core.

These plucks be plucking like mad, must have tired and sore fingers from all that.

Thanks! I was hoping that I was still able to keep enough lightness that it had *some* springiness to it!

Thanks! I definitely played with it a lot. It didn't quite get to the Japanese koto or shamisen sound I originally imagined, but I was pretty happy with the end result.

It definitely would be a workout to actually play 😬
