MAINTAIN

I recently heard a few different tracks with tempo variation, so I wanted to try to mess with tempo for this weeks submission. Its a pretty trivial switch, but I think it mostly works. This is another track I didn't start until the weekend, but after finding a vocal sample to chop up a bit, I kinda got into a groove and made this track. I went pretty bass heavy, especially at the down tempo part, and went all over with the higher pitched synths. Everything gets a bit lost in the bass towards the middle, but I still kinda like how it turned out.

Synths and start/end drums are all from the M8, but the drums switch to a few samples towards the downtempo part.

First appearance of Spool for WB26 as my track artwork:

I appreciate any and all feedback!

HI SPOOL!!!
Great deep sound overall & I love the opening bass. Solid vocal chops. Love the tempo change - it works really well and creates a darker mood for the B-section. The ramp back to original tempo creates a nice anticipation.

DUDE.

I loved where this started, but that slowdown was freaking nuts! This started as a "cool, this is neat" and quickly became a "favoriting now!"

Thanks!! Definitely got a bit messy towards the middle/end of the b-section; but I liked the way someone at WeeklyMeets described it, "almost like a fever dream" - I think it fits lol.

Thank you! That means a lot to me that you'd favorite it! Definitely want to try with some more subtle tempo changes in the future

this art is like the movie about the cat that became a drug user and is trying to MAINTAIN

the slowdown into death drums + chopped n screwed was actually really really really really good.

and chopped n screwed works with the aforementioned drug movie plot lol

Thanks! It was my first time doing something like this so I wasn't sure how it would work out. I think the vocal samples really helped, and chopping them up for this track was easier than I expected - definitely helped pull this one together!
