HAKISTO

I started this week by chopping up a distorted slurry synth that had a kind of guitar sound, then added some repeating keys over top. I kept adding sounds until I had to pull out my second m8 to get more channels to work with. I kinda hid some sounds and added a bit of a pumping baseline, then topped it off by adding in samples from the movie Hackers. In the end, I may have overdone it a bit and made the track too busy... I tried to clean it up when mixing it, but its still a all over the place.

The title is my best estimation of the Esperanto word for "Hacker." Some websites reference "kodumulo" as the correct term, but that translates to "code mule" or "code person" which doesn't entirely fit either. I think that based on the etymology of the English word, this is... good enough! If you know the correct term, let me know!

The picture this week is a clip from the movie Hackers, when Dade gets a laptop from The Plague. I ran it through a script I found on GitHub ASCIIPlayer, and edited it a bit.

Thanks!

Needing two M8s for one song is a real hacker moment.
