BATI

For the first time this year, I set out to create a DnB track at the beginning of the week, and continued with it through to submission time. I built a basic drum sequence and bassline, then sampled scenes from Blade Runner that featured either Roy Batty or Eldon Tyrell (responding to Roy). I also tried to play with Roy's howl in the ending scenes of the movie, trying to make it feel a bit more like a siren/instrument. I think the vocals are still a bit meh after trying to clean them up, but they mostly work. Overall pretty happy with this one! Any critical feedback is appreciated!

Since this was filled with lots of beats and drum... hits... I called this one BATI, the basic Esperanto word for "to hit." I also though it was fitting because of the similarity of "BATI" to (Roy) Batty, and some of the glitched vocal samples also (kind of) sound (almost) like a woman saying "BAH TEE". I might be stretching the pronunciation and meaning of the language a bit on this one!

The image this week is a recording of my m8 screen while playing this track, glitched together with a picture of Roy Batty:
