Player 2 Has Entered the Ball Pit

I have no idea what happened. I started working on a track that was frustrating and going nowhere, so I decided to start over and use the Dirtywave M8's fill function to create a random bassline pattern. Then I kind of got wrapped up in making patches with the Wavsynth engine and 24 hours later I had the whole song structure thrown together in two evenings and a lunch break. Another lunch break and evening after that I realised I was making minute changes nobody would ever notice. Did I stop? NO.

I wanted to replace my DX100 Solid Bass sample with the actual FM synth on the M8 - a task that was (and remains) far outside my ability. Special thanks to Teemac on the Dirtywave Discord for cracking the code and getting the modulation settings where they needed to be. This is right out of the M8 with very little post production: a bit of tape saturation and a touch of EQ to roll off that luscious bass just a tad.

a band, but where every member is head bobbing cat

This sounds so great. Very assertively warmly perfect

Ahh! this track sounds amazing, super catchy melodies. That solid bass works really well in this song!

YESSSS the two of us need to rally all the other cat-named artists and take over!

Thank you! I am trying to get away from my throw-everything-at-the-wall approach and make more deliberate choices when I write stuff.

Thanks!! I love melodic stuff but can't always nail it. The solid bass was inspiring for sure, and really added the bubbly quality that carried the track

There's nothing quite like the feeling of elation you get when a song just starts to click. Especially after having to ditch another project.
The tune here is super fun, I'm really enjoying the bass as well as the more chippy sounds. Very, very well done!!!

Man, this is like music from a lost level of Sonic or OutRun. Upbeat, melodic, bouncy fun.

fun tune, nice modern chiptune sound. I can totally relate to ditching a tune you're working on and then having something come together really quickly and easily once you've got a fresh start.

big up Teemac for that solid bass - sounds great!

hell yeah, love it when you find your way on a song that feels like it's never going to go anywhere. A little m8 random is great inspo. Love the tune, it really came together!

yeah this pops - love the bends and the bouncin' bass

Thanks! I don't think I've ever done something this close to chiptune!

Yeah, this might have happened out of sheer frustration. Teemac saved my bacon for sure!

heart It came together so quickly that as I was tweaking the mix I noticed stuff and was like "wait, when did I do that?"

Thank you! That bass was the backbone I needed to support the whole thing.
