Electrostatic Interference

By MRDRCAT on May 10, 2026 11:45 pm

I didn't have a melodic idea for this week, so I decided to add to the drone setup a little.

This time around, we have the Stylophone DS2 on drones and FX, the Monotribe is back but just for noise sweeps with FX via the DS2, and now there are pads from the MicroMonsta 2 (controlled by the Pocket Scion), with THAT whole live jam dumped into the M8 for an extra drone, some percussion, and sample & hold.

The noise is too loud. It's supposed to be too loud at the end, but it starts too loud and does not have any room to ramp up. Since it's mixed with the DS2's signal for FX, I can't turn it down. No time for a second take! Deadline is in 15 minutes!

Anxiogen track... smile

Nice textures there.

lol I love the panic in your description and I feel like im facing the same thing every week lately. oddly relaxing little noisy space. I do think you managed to create the dynamic effect you're talking about pretty effectively as we're approaching ~2:40 and then a lull before the drone intensifies. nice stuff doctor.

There's definitely a big shift in the energy in the second build. I feel the space get taken up! Love the stereo effects on the static-ey bits that wobble in and out

I like this mix and the prominent noise - panning effects are cool, and the noise feels like it's trying to assert itself....which it later does by crowding everything else out. Nice contrast with the digital beep-boop noises as well, which were some nice sound design by themselves. Cool track, there's drama here smile

Very cool stacks of sound. I haven't thought about the Monotribe in years! They were really rad when they came out. Those Stylophone DS2's also look really interesting.

You got some really nice sound design going on here, very cool smile

Love the spacey delays and gritty drones. Love the ending! Such an awesome soundscape!

Excellent sound design. It has a lot of forward momentum, which I think is a good thing. Nicely done!!
