Charon

By MRDRCAT on April 21, 2024 3:04 pm

Dusted off the Deluge for a change of pace. I dug up an old project with a few loops and decided to flesh it out a little. Still not sure how to fit everything together, but here's the first cohesive jam that showed a little promise. Looks like it's time to update to the Community Firmware and explore the new song arranger.

Charon is in a good mood today.

Great contrasts in this track - between the high arpeggios and the sharp percussion, and those fat, beefy chords. Lead tones are classic. Has that “future via the 80s”. I’ve…love it.

I am a sucker for arps, love the sprinkles.

love the intermingling arps!

Ha ha I'm not sure if that's a good thing?

Oh sweet, I do love an 80s vibe! I'd like to do more with this one, but it sounds like it'll be worth the effort.

Same! But now I have to start calling fun arps "sprinkles"!!

Thank you! I love arps and delays, but using both at the same time makes it a challenge to keep clean.

You built a nice space and the sound choices all fit one another. The arrangement's pretty cool, I dig that, too.

Nitpick: the high-pitched picky arp is sometimes out of scale with the rest. You could try making small modifications to an arp passage when a chord changes in the main arrangement.

I have trouble hearing things like this (basses also give me problems) so thank you for letting me know! I'll have to do some troubleshooting when I start polishing this one.
